Default Update - installing ME on laptop

Ah - you obviously wiped the drive, and used fdisk to create new partitions?
The option to 'make active' is present there - it's just not obvious
if you didn't use FDISK - what did you use to create the partition in the
first place?

What happened was I had to activate the partition, which I'd never heard
of unless i downloaded The Ultimate Boot CD and another, Boot 98se CD.
After that I was able to install 98se, then used my upgrade to ME cd,
thanks all.
