Default Windows Registry

Have you tried to restore the system files from the five
backup CAB files that you get to by entering the command
scanreg /restore in DOS mode by pressing the F8 key at
startup?

See this item on how to create a batch file that makes a
backup of the system files that you should run before you
make a change to the system:

-----Original Message-----
I am running Windows 98 and I've suddenly started getting

an error message
at startup. The message says "Windows has encountered an

error accessing the
system registry . Windows will restart and repair the

system registry for
you" However it doesn't as each time it boots I get the

same message. I've
tried reinstalling windows but get the same message. Can

anyone help?
TIA
