firewall and ESET for 98 and you're done (this assumes you
already have a working brain).


Sometimes a machine feels safer if we know it's not got a network stack to
break at all. If I made some DVD ripping machine (I can't watch DVD's on
my underpowered systems, they are light on energy but need XviD to balance
quality with low CPU demands to show movies), I'd be happier is I knew that
no unwanted functions were lurking, slowing it down, risking general borkage.
Taking out whole unwanted chunks of OS is especially gratifying...
