Sooner or later the posts will be deleted from the server.
Try making a new email folder, call it "Useful Posts" or something and copy
anything you want to save to it.
Alternatively copy and paste to a NotePad and save it with a useful name.

Installation problems of that kind are usually caused by installing the
drivers *after* plugging the drive in.
try this
Power down, and unplug all USB devices
Boot to Safe Mode, remove ALL USB-related entries in Device Manager
reboot to Normal Mode, and allow Windows to reinstall the drivers for the
base USB socket and hubs, and reboot again - then install the drivers for
the flash drives, and then plug the drives in

It's far better, though, to use a proper Image of the drive, if you
have
the
software and hardware available - the A/R programs relies on the
upgrade
being reasonably sane in the first place.
There's not really much point in doing such an upgrade from 98SE to
ME -

this 98FE?? - are you doing it for USB support?
