There is a Winsock.dll, dated about 2001.

settings - so I can't see why it won't find any site names - it
was
working
OK before the update.

The ISP provides a valid IP address - Winipcfg looks normal, and
the
DNS
names displayed are as expected.

Unfortunately, the machine is installed with the Swedish
language
(which I
can barely understand), and I am concerned I may have done
something
stupid
during the update, because of the language difficulty.

I think TCP is OK as it connects to my network using the USB
Wifi.
However,
I can't ping my ISP's DNS server.

Does anyone have any idea what may be the problem and what I
need to
do
to
fix it?
