Default Internet Explorer problem

I tried the repair, didn't fix the problem. There is no entry in add/remove
for "Microsoft Internet Explorer" or "Internet Explorer". (There IS an entry
for "Microsoft Outlook Express"). Before trying the repair, I did full
sweeps with up-to-date Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, Antivir Free
Edition, and Webroot Spy Sweeper. No problems were detected by these
programs. Can anyone help?

It would be under *Microsoft* Internet Explorer in
add/remove list.
Or go to Start/Run
Type Msinfo32 click OK.
At top click on tools and select IE Repair Tool.
Bolt Repair Internet Explore and OK. Be sure to answer
yes to a restart. Run AdAware after restart.

I have been getting error messages when going to certain

websites : "your
browser is not active x enabled" (or something to the

same effect.) So I
went into "tools"- "internet options" and

clicked "enable" for all active x
entries. But still the webpages gave the same error

message. Looking in
"control panel-add remove programs" , there is no longer

an entry titled
"Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools", so I could not

do the "repair
Internet Explorer" option. There is an entry

called "Internet Explorer
Q831167". When I chose to uninstall that entry, the old

entry (Internet
Explorer 6 and Internet Tools) did not come back. Doing

an update via
Windows Update website, the entry IE Q831167 came back,

but not the original
entry which is Internet Explorer 6 and Tools. Any one

know how to get it
back?
