Default Internal Restore File?

for some reason, it's not working. i still cannot get the windows sound to
work. I'll keep trying, but i would appreciate some more help if it's
possible.

delete all sound related entries. Boot back into Normal Mode and let Win
Me redetect your hardware and reinstall your sound drivers. mmsystem.dll
belongs in the windows\system folder.
Well, I remember using this file earlier to fix the problem, but the
location of the file escaped my mind. But if you can help me with
