Try this and post your results.

1 Open word, copy the text
2 Close word
3 Open Outlook Express
4 Start a new message and then Paste.

Can you copy and paste from one word document to another?
Can you copy and paste from one OE message to another?

answers to the above may help us solve your problem
PS I know that Norton's AV will cause problems if you have the "enable
office plug-ins" checked in Options.
But I have not had problems like that with AVG.

I open my OE mail, then open the Word attachment, so far fine.

Then I try to copy the text of the word doc onto another email from OE
that I am about to send....
that's when 2 things happen:

1. my OE FREEZES
2. and it say
Microsoft WORD " not responding"

So I cannot cut and paste the Word doc. The Word doc is only 4 pages
long.

I checked my PC
I have 192 RAM
75% free

I have a Win Me and 20GB and 750 Mhz Intel CPU.

I did a scandisk, defrag and AVG virusscan. Still same problem.

Why is this happening ?

Can anyone pls. help me.

I am NOT TECHNICAL.
