Please note that this a newsgroup supporting those running the Win Me
operating system rather than XP Home or Pro. May I suggest you post
details of your problem to a newsgroup supporting those running XP. Such
newsgroups have windowsxp in their title rather than windowsme.

As for your laptop restarting the first thing to do is to uncheck the box
"Automatically restart" found at System Properties | Advanced | Startup
and Recover - Settings in the section "System failure". This will then
allow the system to output an error message rather than restarting. This
should hopefully then help you to find the cause of the problem.
