Your ISP is Verizon. There are no real goodies there, that I can't get from
a paid Yahoo!, or MSN account (depending on your preference). As an SBC
customer, I can pick the SBC Yahoo! junk; but I don't. Anti Virus,
Firewall, Anti Spam, Anti Spyware; I can handle it all without the ISP
software bundle. I could even deal with "Parental Controls" without their
software, if I needed it. What you get is a bunch of software with enough
bells and whistles to run your own railroad; and a tendency to crud up the
system. And are doing this on a system which already had AOL on it? Its a
wonder things still work decently!

Get rid of everything AOL. Add nothing Yahoo! (well, except for their
Messenger client, if you have contacts on their network. If you must have
parental controls, only load the minimum software necessary. You should be
able to run with just the generic MS Internet Explorer that came with the
OS, though.

I have nothing from my ISP installed, only the generic Yahoo! Pager from
before SBC cut a contract with Yahoo!. There are good free anti virus
programs out there, better than Yahoo! And good anti spam programs, better
than Yahoo! You left AOL; why are you trying to get AOL silliness from your
new ISP?
