I concur with Rick T and Peter.
AVG from Grisoft may be the best completely free AV tool, just now.
The latest version runs just fine here under WinME.
No interference with System Restore.

Note that Computer Associates has extended their one year free trial, under
Win9X, for the eTrust Armor bundle of the EZ AV and personal firewall.
CA's firewall is a rebranded version of Zone Labs Zone Alarm. You can
obtain the bundle at the MS Win Updates site, using the "Protect your PC"
icon in the upper right of the home page. This is an exceptionally good
value, IMO.

FWIW, IMO, EOD32 may be the best AV tool, at the moment.
