Running Windows 98 on old Pentium II
Have offloaded general documentation and photos, etc to
clear memory and machine is running like a top,
now...EXCEPT... I can no longer access the Internet (I'm
on my laptop now) and...(THE MAIN PROBLEM) I continue to
lock up every time I must reply to a popup box requiring a
click on OK or YES/NO response. Example: When changing
display properties or if I receive a message that the
document I want to print is out of the margins--do I want
to continue, and any other request of this nature. The
instant I must click on the YES, NO, or OK button my
entire machine locks up and I must restart, causing me to
lose the ability to make any change. I don't have this
problem in SAFE mode, but many of the things I lock up on
are not doable in SAFE mode. I have searched the Internet
for my problem and can't find any information that I can
tell applies to it. I'm a novice (more or less) and maybe
I saw it but it was too technical for me to recognize.
HELP, PLEASE
