Default Merry Crimbo peeps

Ah...VB3 came out somewhere about the same time that Noah jumped ship! - the
problem here is not so much ME compatibility as VB runtimes. and I know no
way around that (but I'm willing to play if you are! vbeg)

Good luck - and come back if you need an assist!

Hmmm.... progs that won't run under Vista?...... did they run under XP?

Yes.

did you try compatibility mode??.....

Yes, although I can't say I exactly knocked myself out trying every
possible option. I already had the ME VPC installed and was more than
half thinking I'd use it anyway.

if you wanna work on them (just for fun g) mail me!

Well, I've got a solution I'm satisfied with. I already wasted a few
hours on trying to get it to run under Vista. Still, if you've got an
idea I didn't try, I'd give it a whirl.

Specifically, the compile-to-executable option of Visual Basic 3 crashes
VB under Vista.

Everything else works, though. So I put the two programs I'm maintaining
in a shared folder that my ME VPC can see. I do all my development/debug
and so on under Vista then save the entire thing. Fire up ME, do the
compile there, then shut down ME. I only create executable rarely, so
it's not much of an inconvenience. The executables run find under Vista,
I just can't create them under Vista.

Merry Xmas, Bill.

Merry Christmas to you. And have a fine (upcoming) New Year as well.
