Hi Brian,
I've got a 3dfx voodoo 3 card. Are all the settings accessible by going to
control
panel/display?

In CP Display Settings tab, you should have a Advanced button, which when
clicked should take you to the 3D voodoo config window.

If so, I can only change the resolution. The odd thing is that as I increase
the
resolution, the area
accessible to the cursor shrinks, and the amount of space it can't go into
increases. So I'd guess
that screen size might not have anything to do with it.

What is the refresh rate set at? If it's set at 85 or abouts, try lowering it
to 65.

The settings in control panel/system/display devices don't seem to affect this
either

I noticed that there's a grayed out checkbox in the Settings section of
control
panel/display:
"extend my windows desktop onto this monitor." Would this be relevant?

Most likely not if the card supports dual monitors and only one is connected.

It's an Eizo, FlexScan, FX C6, recommended resolution is 1280x1024, way higher
than
I've set it to.

That eliminates that as the prob.

Thanks. I find this probelm more annoying than anything else. I need the
1024x768
resolution to view
one program. Otherwise my eyes like the larger icons and type. I had hoped
to put
the display icon
in the systray and switch back and forth with one click. I can do it by
clicking
the display icon (which I
put on my desktop), but I shouldn't have to.

I don't know if it will work the way you wish, but try adding the display icon
you mention to the Startup folder. This will definitely add it to the systray
because it is then set to run on boot.

One other possibility is that I use a Wacom tablet instead of an ordinary
mouse
which is mapped to the
display. It is mapped to the "entire display" so I don't think this should be
a
problem. I'll check with Wacom
and see if they have anything on this and will advise if they do.

I can't comment on Wacom since I know nothing of it.
