I've had quite a bit of trouble with this aspect of ZA on my XP box (long
story). If possible, try 'uninstalling' ZA for a day or two and see if the
problem goes with it. I've now given up with ZA (sadly) and rely on XP's
Firewall - not an option in WinMe.
Before you uninstall it, - at shutdown, when the hourglass is showing -
look
in Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) under Processes to see if there is more
than
one instance of Explorer.exe running.

Mart, you don't know how reassured I am to learn that someone else has
experienced this problem. I have a little more information to add here that
I just know is related, but I don't know what to do with it:
When I'm ready to quit for the day and at that time the hourglass is
alongside the mouse pointer the usual Start/Shutdown freezes the computer
every time! BUT, if I move the mouse pointer and hourglass to the task bar
or over a desktop icon the hourglass disappears, and while leaving the
pointer-hourglass in place normal shutdown is possible. Now, riddle me that
one if you can.
As for multiple Explorer entries on Ctl-Alt-Delete, no, I've never seen
anything particularly unusual then.
