Default VGA Display Problem in DOS and Safe Mode

If you have a digital monitor then it's likely that the monitor settings are
unique to each display mode. Adjust the monitor while in DOS and save the
settings. They should then be remembered each time the monitor switches to
whatever mode DOS uses.

The image problem you have described is not related to drivers.

The actual problem is that the center display is so wide-spread across the
screen that both sides are pushed out of the left and right edges of the
screen. I need to find a way to push or compress the display back together
where everything is shown on the screen. Will re-installing the super vga
driver accomplish this?
