Default VGA Display Problem in DOS and Safe Mode

Go to the ATI web site and download and install the very latest drivers for
your display adapter. Often this will fix problems that the display has
between Windows and DOS or MS-DOS mode.

The actual problem is that the center display is so wide-spread across the
screen that both sides are pushed out of the left and right edges of the
screen. I need to find a way to push or compress the display back together
where everything is shown on the screen. Will re-installing the super vga
driver accomplish this?

In a DOS screen or in Safe Mode the display is wider across the middle of
the monitor and then is squeezed thin at both ends. The characters in the
middle of the screen look like they're in a larger, wider font while the
characters at the sides, as I described, are smaller and squeezed thin.

The display in windows mode using my ATI video driver is fine which means

my
monitor is adjusted correctly.

I've had this problem for awhile now and haven't yet found the solution.

Do
I need to install the original vga driver off the Win98 SE cd? If so,

which
.cab folder would I find it?
