Default Download Service Packs and Updates

Thanks for the info.
But I want to download the "updates" from the website, not Windows
Updates. I am reinstalling my friends WinME operating system but she
has no internet connection. I want to download at my house and put on
disc to take there.

Unfortunately the options available to you may not be what you want
however you need to remember that Win Me is now some years out of support
with the extended support phase having finished in June 2006. What you
require is the old v4 Windows Update Catalog where you can search for and
download updates which can then be transferred to another PC. However the
v4 Catalog can only now be accessed by PCs running the legacy Operating
systems, Win 98, 98SE and Win Me since PCs running more modern operating
systems such as for example XP are automatically passed to the more recent
v7 Windows Update Catalog site which no longer includes patches for Win
98, 98SE or Win Me.
