Mart,

Perhaps more trouble than its worth, but I will
investigate. I downloaded the most recent drivers, just
not sure about changing the BIOS.

Thanks,

Greg

Firstly, you MUST have access to the WinMe compatible

drivers for the sound
card as without them you will never get it to work - and

if it is an 'older
model' (pre WinMe) then you'll need the 'latest' drivers

and still not be
able to get it to work properly! You need to know the

make and exact model
of card and then search the Creative web site for drivers

then download and
install.

Secondly, *IF* you have 'on-board' sound then you

must 'Remove' the existing
drivers - in Device Manager (preferably in Safe Mode) and

the disable
'on-board' sound in your BIOS before you re-boot. (See

your User Manual for
instructions on how to disable your 'on-board' sound.)

A friend of mine gave me a soundblaster sound card (don't
remember the model right now)for my HP Pavilion computer
running ME. I installed it, and then had no sound. In
fact, the computer does not recognize that it is even
there. Since it does not recognize it, it won't load any
drivers either. My same friend told me that I must turn
off the factory installed sound software. He couldn't
remember how he did it before. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg
