Overheating, RAM problems, and hardware device errors are the common
culprits.
Open and clean the box well to begin.
Consider replacing the PWS.

I'm looking for ideas as to why....my system will shutdown
without warning. It's done this while running ME and XP
but not while booted in a DOS mode. I've shutdown all the
power management options, have reformatted the system in
both Fat32 and NTFS, have loaded the OS and nothing else.
The system can shutdown in 5 minutes or 5 hours, there's
nothing common here. It just stops running on its own,
although the power supply fan and lights keep going. I'm
at a loss for ideas. Has anyone seen this before? The
system is an HP Desktop. Thanks!!!
