Default CPU spoofing utility?

We have enough problems with Keyloggers, Adware, Spyware, Viruses, Trojans to
consider even answering that question even if we did know of such a program I
highly doubt that information would be shared over a MICROSOFT NEWSGROUP! I
suggest you purchase a legal Intel CPU and forget about the grand plans of
trying to be a petty criminal by spoofing the CPU type. Goodbye, Frank!

I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if there's a utility
available (Win 98 or ME) that will report a different CPU type to a
program's installer or to the program itself. A friend of mine said he
wanted to install a demo of some audio program, but the program's docs say
it must be installed/run on a machine with an Intel CPU only (and his
machine has an AMD). Is this something that's possible to spoof, or is it
too low-level (BIOS level).

I was hoping perhaps there was a registry key that could be
added/edited/etc. that could "report" the CPU of a user's choice to an
application or installer. Not a biggie, but does anyone know? Thanks.
