....I simply rail against the implication that the main Vista nay-sayers in
this locality - Mike and myself - are probably misguided, based on said
experience. It is very little experience, when it misses the XP era entirely
and has only just moved on from Win Me. There is a lack of perspective to
your thinking if you believe that your awe at 21st century Windows is a
reflection of the advance in Vista. Truly there is a fair bit of for want of
a better word *advancement* in Vista, but it is not awe-inspiring (*awesome,
dude!*) but seems so when suddenly transported to it from long, long ago, in
a galaxy far away where hopefully Tom Cruise and John Travolta can one day
return. Being thus inured to the shock of the new, failure can be seen for
what it is, despite the glistening appearance.

It is as if you went for a walk in the hills on a sunny day some years ago.
You had your sunglasses, naturally, but you somehow got trapped underground,
and have been there ever since, and finally you have found the exit.
Stepping into broad, if overcast, daylight, you are dazzled! Luckily you
have your sunglasses, and you put them on. Now you can see that Mike and
Shane are passing by. But they aren't wearing sunglasses! It isn't that they
are crazy, risking their sight in the blinding afternoon sun. Is it???

Maybe it is!

Ah, here comes Joan, in her own sunglasses! She likes to wear them. But
then, it does take every kind of people as the late Robert Palmer said.
Unfortunate name though. I don't mean Joan's...

No matter what anyone thinks, I have to be happy with what I've got

I don't know where to begin that I might. I'll leave that one to Figgs, who
knows about all there is to know about spelling, if it isn't too much toil
and trouble.
