I looked at the settings in Thunderbird, so I can view the headers,
which I assume will tell me if they are using the computer and with
what software for the email, or, if they are using their phone. All
I see is the actual email text and photos if they attach them.

How can I view the header info on TB 2.x to see what software they
are using?

The menu items across the top of the Thunderbird window are

File Edit View Go Message Tools (etc)

Under View the 6'th item is Headers. There are 2 choices for Headers:

- All
- Normal

Select All to see the full email headers.

Email headers are becoming increasingly long and complex these days,
especially if the sender is using Gmail, Outlook/Live/Hotmail, Yahoo
(soon to be called "Altaba" apparently). There's no absolute yes or no
answer as to if you're going to be able to know what the sender used to
send their email to you.

But now you know how to view the headers.

Thanks !!!!
