Default Wireless adapters and Windows ME

Glad to know my memory isn't totally failing me

Good luck with the Edimax - I've always found them good.

Thanks Noel,

I found a USB adapter for ME from Edimax and expect it to arrive any day.
Will let you know how it goes.

The problem with anything you buy nowadays is going to be finding drivers
for ME.
It's probably going to be easier to Google for drivers for your option of
choice - then see whether you can find a manufacturer and supplier!

In the case of laptops.....
you have the option of PCMCIA or USB (or wired)
- I seriously doubt that anyone still produces PCMCIA cards with ME
drivers.
IIRC there were still one or two USB manufacturers who bothered to create
ME/Win98 drivers for their dongles, but for the life of me, I can't
remember
who... Edimax, maybe?
..... hmmm -seems like Linksys may still do them? maybe if you look in
eBay,
and check for drivers before purchase, you can get a bargain?

Sorry I can't give chapter-and-verse!

I have an older Compaq presario laptop running ME and want to set it up
to
be
on my home network. I was wondering if I can use a wireless adapter to
set
it up with my home network or do I need to use a PCMCIA card? The
laptop
has a PCMCIA card slot for a type I, II, or III PC Card with support
for a
32-bit Cardbus.
