Does the USB port actually work with another device connected to it?

Many computers from the Win98 era had USB ports built into the
motherboard but were often shipped without connector between the
motherboard and the USB port slot on the back of the computer. Also
it was common for the USB ports to be disabled in the computer's BIOS
setup.

sorted, i upgraded to "windows 200 server"
now runs everything that xp can do :-)
