Default ME to XP Upgrade!

How was the Fax client installed and how was Win Me installed? By default
the Fax client cannot be installed on Win Me without some workarounds but
if these are done it should I seem to recall be added to Add/Remove
Programs from which it can be installed. More likely perhaps is that Win
Me was installed as an update to either Win 98 or Win 98SE where MS Fax
was an installable option. Again this should have added MS Fax to
Add/Remove Programs.

I'd like to try out a couple of ideas that might help here as I've seen
this problem before and even experienced it myself back in 2001 when XP
was released but cannot now remember the steps I took to solve the
problem. My problem is that the one real PC I have that was still running
Win Me and had a modem died over Christmas and I now only have Win Me
running in what is called a Virtual Machine, that is running in a window
on a PC running a different OS.

I'll post back if I can remember what I did but meanwhile check Add/Remove
programs for a possible entry that can be used to uninstall MS Fax.

I am trying to upgrade ME to XP. I have a "blocking issue" Microsoft
Shared Fax Client. Does anyone know where to find it so I can delete
it.

Please help!
