You can pick and choose the ones that sound most critical by their
descriptions. That's what I ended up doing - (I'm using IE 5.5 SP1
now).

Hi all,
I downloaded and installed a more recent version of IE (5.50.4807.2300IC)
with lots of help and advice from you lot. According to microsoft update
site, I need 19 critical updates/service packs-most to do with security,

43
win 98 and 98 SE updates, and 1 driver update (modem). One of the

critical
updates is a to with an IE 6 service pack ? I don't want IE6, and I

wouldn't
of thought of it as critical! I'm suppose I should have some of these

other
updates and service packs but which ones?
All opinions welcome.

general rule of thumb ...get drivers from the manufacturer of the product ,
not from microsoft.

you don't need to go to IE6 if you don't want to ....like Bill said , pick
and choose what you want
