Default Upgrading to Windows XP

Wrong newsgroup (this is for the legacy operating system Windows
Millennium).

Your problem seems to be that your system bios may not be compatible with
booting from an XP CD however have you tried hitting Enter/Return when you
see the message? If not, do so otherwise the system won't boot from the CD.

I have an older WIN2000 machine. I do not have the password to log
onto the machine and can not get it.

I need to upgrade it to WINXP. I have the WINXP CD and am trying to
boot from there so I can format the hard drive and intall. However
when I attempt to boot from the CD it stops at "Boot from ATAPI
CD-ROM : ".

Any and all suggestions on how to get past this would be appreciated.

Thank you,
