because you no longer have the correct video drivers for

your graphics
card installed or perhaps just because the actual

resolution has been

Open the Device Manager (Control Panel | System). Click

the + alongside
Display adapters. Is your graphics card correctly

identified or is it
perhaps the default VGA adapter? If not correctly

identified then in all
probability you need to reinstall your video drivers.

Resolution
Right click on the desktop, then click Properties and

then Settings (or
Control Panel | Display). Adjust screen resolution and

colour depth to
suit your requirements.

.I used the recovery cd, in device manager it is the

default VGA adaper. how do I reinstall video drivers?
