How did you restore? Was it by using system restore or
did you use an OEM
restore or recovery CD?
What appears to have happened is that the resolution has
dropped, either
because you no longer have the correct video drivers for
your graphics
card installed or perhaps just because the actual
resolution has been
reset.
Open the Device Manager (Control Panel | System). Click
the + alongside
Display adapters. Is your graphics card correctly
identified or is it
perhaps the default VGA adapter? If not correctly
identified then in all
probability you need to reinstall your video drivers.
Resolution
Right click on the desktop, then click Properties and
then Settings (or
Control Panel | Display). Adjust screen resolution and
colour depth to
suit your requirements.
