Default Did recovery erased everything PLEASE HELP!!!

Make sure you have the Code Key. 25 digit string.
You may have to format the drive, through a Boot Disk, to
get 98SE to load.

Hi,

If it is a VMM32 error then you will have to reinstall

windws. Installing
windows from the CD(which you never opened) would be a

good option

I wanted to full restore my older computer back to it's
original Windows 98 second edition. (I have done it
before) I forgot to disable an extra CD-Rom that I
installed and have had problems ever since.
I did unhook it but now it just boots up and shuts off
and keeps saying many errors including the last one that
says that the vmm32.vxd file is missing and I may have

to
reinstall windows.
I do have the recovery disks but it keeps rebooting and
I lose everything and it starts all over again with a
scandisk. I have tried to get to the dos command so

that
I can try to recover again but it keeps coming up thar
all the drivers, etc are missing.
How can I fix this problem?? If worse comes to worse,

I
do have a windows 98SE disk that come with my Compaq
laptop that has never been opened. (Everything was
already installed) It sayS on the front of the disk

that
it is for PCs without Windows. Is it possible to use
this? Or can I just erase all the info on my computer
and use the recovery disks that came with it. I am
referring to the following computer PLEASE HELP ME!!!
HP 8560C desktop
12 GB hard drive
256 mb memory
windows 98SE
