I suggest that you first use the Msconfig.exe utility to disable all items
on the Startup tab. Once you have done that, exit Windows and restart and
then try changing the font then exit and restart. There may be something
loading at Startup that is preventing your change from being saved when you
shutdown.

Once the font is changed, be sure to run the Msconfig utility again to
re-enable the items loading at startup.

works only so long as the PC is not rebooted. Seems like my PC cannot

the change on shutdown. After rebooting, the relevant 'font' fields are
shown as blank and I have to select my fonts again.
