Default Extended DOS Partition with No Logical Drives

If you simply want to clear the disk and start over then there is some
information he

If you want to preserve the existing partition then you need to know what it
is. Do
FDISK /Status and take a note of the display. It is the details of the
current partitioning.

I am trying to reinstall Windows 98 on my computer. It shipped with a 8GB
hard drive. When I Format the drive, it only shows that 2GB of the drive
is
available for use. I want to get rid of an Extended DOS partition
occupying
the other 6GB of space. However, when attempting to delete this with
FDISK, I
am told that there are Logical Drives present, when the FDISK Information
Screen for the same partition says no such thing is present.
