Default On insertion of Ritz pic CD multiple apps start then error out

The elderly user had several retail firms including Ritz, develop film

and
create many picture CDs which are important to her. These firms include

Ritz
and Walgreens. On insertion of a Ritz CD multiple apps auto start

(including
Walgreens) then a program crash ensues. Windows 98 says the program(s?)

must
close.

I removed the Walgreen app in Control PanelAdd/Remove and I think I
restarted 98 but the Walgreen program continues to start, along with the

Ritz
program.when I insert a Ritz CD.

1. Uninstal all unwanted apps (after rebooting
to Safe Mode.)
2. Instal whatever Win98 picture viewer you prefer. The
best is free from www.irfanview.com.
3. Set CD AutoInsert Notification OFF (done easiest
via / Settings / Control Panel / Device Manager and
select in turn each CD and / Properties.)

We found closing error dialogues after the program(s?) crash permits the
user to start one of the sub apps within the Ritz program they really use
regularly to view and print from these Ritz disks.

If the user prefers the Ritz app you should confirm
it was written to run under Win98 (as well as XP)
and then configure it from its own menus to start
the way she wants it.

But it is easiest to instal IrfanView, configure this
to be the app for pictures (TIF, JPG and others) and
either simplify its appearance in the Start Menu or
put its icon on the Desktop for convenience. Show
the user how to reach its Thumbnails menu
