Not hard...

1. Winkey + Pause/Break (to open Device manager...or do it the way you
are used to)

2. Expand the CDROM entry

3. Click the correct drive

4. Click "Remove"

5. Close Device Manager

6. Reboot

Tried removing it in Device manager and rebooting?
