Say it isn't so!

It ain't! That ain't me! It ain't so! And I'm pretty sure
that doppelganger will burn to a crisp of
Vista-irradiation shortly! Or he'll be sent into the
spirit world with (Bicycle) Rob!

VISTA???? EGADS???? (choke)
I told you you'd better get XP while it was still around.
Now it's too late!

I don't have binaries access so I can't check, but while the
Usenet still exists (not for much longer, mark my words - it may
not be for a few years, but they WILL take it away eventually),
I am quite certain you will be able to get XP (and DOS 2.00 if
you want, or anything else - Windows 7 too, if Vista wasn't
enough for you) anytime you want.

And there are (for better or worse) many web sites, not to
mention torrents etc. which provide largely the same content.

I read the thread, BTW. I love the polite and helpful replies
from the MVP. I just wonder why he didn't clarify that it was a
high-level MS corporate decision that translucent windows
(adjustable glistening, shimmering and other distortion effects
to be avail. with the 2 top-priced versions of Win7) were /much/
more important than a setting allowing you to choose which (if
any) email message will be opened and displayed on start-up when
you use a MS product/web site.

Reminds me of the "you are in a helicopter" joke.

Since I believe I haven't in /at least/ a year, may I again
mention NEVER being able to print a directory's (EXCUUUUUSE ME,
"FOLDER'S") contents in Windows? *NEVER*, **EVER**, apparently.

SIGH.

OTOH, WHY is ANYONE with brains using MS Hotmail and MS mail
programs, whatever they are now called? For me, Hotmail *ceased
to exist* when it went XP/Vista only (of course, my *accounts*
are and will remain permanent, AFAIK...). It's not like there
aren't quite a few other options.
