Left click the clock, move the cursor to the bottom of the screen and
release the mouse key.

Somehow I have managed to split the monitor screen into
two areas. On the left of the screen the taskbar is
displayed in a vertical display with the START button at
the top left. On the right side of the screen are the
icons for the installed programs.
I have tried dragging the taskbar back to it's original
position to no avail.
