Default Windows 7 RAM Problem

along with what Mike M has just said, I was told and read else where that
win 7 won't show the ram in use by windows only whats remaining free. So by
that reasoning I'd guess that windows 7 running on your machine is using
the difference ie... 2 gegs..

Hey,
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit and I have 6GB of Kingston
HyperX RAM on my motherboard which is a ASUS P6T SE which can have
24GB of RAM, but Windows 7 is only saying there is 4GB of RAM, but
when I run CPUZ is says I have 6GB. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Wrong newsgroup! You've posted to a newsgroup intended to support those
still running the Windows Millennium legacy operating system. Win Me has
problems with more than 1GB let alone 6GB vbg.

As for your problem, I can't really help. I (only) have 4GB in my two Win
7 x64 systems and the operating system sees it all in both systems which
use GigaByte motherboards. You might want to check whether the amount of
RAM has been limited as follows.
Launch MSConfig, open the Boot tab and the click Advanced Options. Is the
Maximum Memory box checked? If so, uncheck the box, Apply and reboot and
see if that solves the problem.
