In Add/Remove Programs, "Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and Internet
Tools." Double-click that. Then "Add a Component", OK. The first section is
"Internet Explorer 6", with several components, ending with "Internet
Explorer Browser Enhancements." The second section is "Communication
Components" and the only component in that section is "Outlook Express". The
third section is "Multimedia Components".

I can't answer your networking question, but in order to get email, you need
internet connection. Until you get that established, no email. But it
doesn't matter how you get to the internet, whether Dial-up, DSL hard wired
of a wireless access point. As long as Outlook Express can get to the
internet, it can get to your email, with no change in settings, assuming a
normal ISP and normal configuration. Yours *sounds like* a normal ISP. But I
find no JOIMAIL.COM, only Joymail.com, which doesn't look like what you're
taking about, and JOIMAIL.NET, which looks closer, but also doesn't appear
to offer their own email service, just links to others. Do you have a link
to your ISP's home page?

Or, go to Add/Remove Programs and double-click the "Microsoft Internet

then it's already installed. Still, I'd strongly recommend upgrading to
IE6.1 if you aren't already there.

Note that OE is *not* Microsoft Outlook, which is an entirely different
program that's part of MS Office suites.

program,
you'll need to refer to your ISP's help pages to get the proper
configuration information. If you have any problems, please include the

Well I have IE 6.02XXX with SP1 I guess thats IE 6.1. I get down to Add
components and I do not find but I see no OE offered.

The ISP I am dealing with is JOIMAIL.COM which is owned by EARTHLINK and
run by earthlink.

I did install Netgear (WG111v2) on USB 2 wireless adapter on USB 1
port. I understand speed will be less but that OK. Even though I can
connect with hub/modem and get a good signal..TCP or link level
protocol appears to kept me from connecting to the outside world.
Still not sure what the cause is.
