The link I provided was just the Google search for "jv16 Power Tools free
version"..........it brought up some other hits for items unrelated to
"jv16". I don't have a clue about the PopCorn email client and the
like.......the only thing I was recommending and have experience with, is
the jv16 Power Tools. You are on your own with the other three......can't
help there. I will recommend doing some serious research before installing
any app of unknown origin, quality or compatibility.

The link you provided, Heirloom, opens up the following four downloads
via Google's (one of them, the first one, to be sure):
1. jv16 Powertools
2. RegCleaner
3. Power Archiver
4. PopCorn (e-mail client).
Since the post was about the registry, I presumed all four downloads were
essential. I did not install any of them yet.
Maybr you would have some suggestions before I do, Heirloom.
At any rate, I appreciate your contribution here.
Thanks a million.

Harry, old and very pleased.

All four???? Now I am wondering what you dl'd. jv16 Power Tools is a
single app. What four things did you dl'd?

Much obliged, Heirloom.
I downloaded all four of them, just in case and to be safe.
Had no idea such nice program(s) existed, but then, I don't surf

nearly
enough.
Thanks again.

Harry, too old to worry about it.

The new version is a $$$ app, the older free version (still an

excellent
proggy) is available from a number of sites.....see the above

search
results.
Heirloom, old and my point exactly

Heirloom, what did you have for supper?
If I had some of that, maybe I could understand your text a little
better?
Your jv16 Power Tools look fairly good firsthand, but you'ld have

to
pay
for
the program' don't you?
How come you've waited so long to tell us?

Harry, ...never mind.

Eli,
(disclaimer: I have not used Reg Mech 3.0 and am not

familiar
with
it)
From what I could see on the page you referenced, Reg Mech

doesn't
do
anything that jv16 Power Tools can't do and jv16 appears to be

capable
of
a
lot more......plus, you can still get the free version. I have

used
jv16
Power Tools for a number of years and never had a problem with

it.
Just
my
humble opinion, I could be wrong.

Hello Eli:

I happen to have the Registry Mechanic installed on my

machine.
Where safety is concerned, it is entirely in your hands, since

you
control
what you want the program to do.
To uninstall, you use Add/Remove Programs.
I don't think you have full use of the program until you

purchase
it.
Once you bought it, you wouldn't want to uninstall it, but

merely
refrain
from using it more than you'ld need to.
And you can easily recover deleted items from backup.
One has to be careful in removing many of the 'discovered'

items,
because
they may be tied in with other programs or functions, but they

can
be
restored with the backup utility.
To give you my personal assessment:
I don't use this program, unless I absolutely have to, because

there
is
a
problem with the registry.
It provides a certain, limited feeling of security for me,

besides
the
ability to somewhat control the registry..
The rest is up to you.

Harry
