How did you do this? If a clean install or a
reinstall using a manufacturer's Recovery CD you will
have to reinstall your
applications. You say you cannot open some programs
although "they are
obviously on the C:\ drive". Why are they "obviously on
your C:\ drive"?

I SEE THEM LISTED UNDER C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT OFFICE
AND C:\MICROSOFT OFFICE

Have you checked that the programs are still there in
your C:\Program Files
folder? Take Word for example, how are you trying to
launch Word. What
exactly happens including all error messages you see?
