I am trying to recover an old Toshiba Tecron 8100 for a friend of mine.
However, the LCD monitor is dark, i.e., no display, colors, or backgrounds.
Just dark. I can hear the computer booting up and running, there's no screen
to work with. I have been researching issues with this model laptop, and
they do have a history of display problems. More specifically, the
backlights burn out for whatever reason. I know this model is an old one,
but I wanted to know where I could learn more or if I am able to recover it,
should I start with the backlight and its replacement. The other errors and
issues need to be resolved, but I can't see the interface to begin
troubleshooting. Does anyone know of a similar problem and where they began
to resolve their similar issue?
