Default 2 operating systems

It's a rather new product, Bill. I don't honestly know much about its =
limitations. It seems vaguely to make sense to me that a VPC containing =
XP or even 2K might not be very stable or even work at all on top of 9x, =
but my synapses can't coalesce on the exact reasons.

Interestingly, many people are using it to test Longhorn on top of XP =
systems.

Truth be told, Ron gave the better all around answer to the OP's =
question. But if Compatibility can't be solved, and it's only for that =
purpose (or as many of us use it, for test-beds), then VPC is an obvious =
choice due to not requiring reboot. Makes it easy to switch from one to =
the other on the fly.

Now that is interesting. How come this has never been mentioned =

before?
So what's the catch (on the surface, this sounds too good to be true, =

but I
haven't researched it). Although if I read this right, it will not =

allow an
existing Win98SE system to add XP - it sounded like it was designed =

for the
other way around - you start with a newer system, and add the older =

legacy
system under Virtual PC. Plus I expect there will be some =

limitations to
running these things under the virtual PC shell.

Indeed it is, and possibly the best way to do that is to use =

Microsoft
Virtual PC. This permits you to switch from one to the other "on the =

fly",
rather than using partitioning and multi-boot schemes (though those

methods
definitely have their own advantages.)

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to load 2 operating
systems on to one computer? We still need 98 for certain
programs that have not been updated from other
organizations but all our new computers are upgraded to
XP.Our director suggested we could load both operating
systems to one computer.

Thanks!
