Default IDE BIOS woes

Thanks for the suggestions.
Tried them but still no joy.
So I went for the real excitement, and flashed the BIOS from
2.36T up to 2.59 which I got from searching here
http://download.aopen.com.tw/default.aspx

Surprise, surprise - the problem is solved and BIOS picks-up
the IDE drives like that.
These long-term noob CPU struggles that eventually work are
more relief than the best sex.

I am having a real problem trying to connect-up extra IDE
disks to a second tower-system I have just obtained.

Both systems are P3-450 running WinME (256 RAM each) with

a
PrimaryMaster IDE installed and working on each machine.

I have 2 x 40Gb IDE Drives (Seagate & W.Digital) that I
would like to use in the new tower - both were formatted &
partitioned on the older tower as Fat32 slaves with the
'Large' request when opening FDisk.

Both these drives work fine in the old tower, but will not
show in BIOS or otherwise on the new tower, whether using
IDE-1 or 2 and with or without the PrimaryMaster attached.
I cannot get to FDisk them on the new machine, as it

doesn't
even see them at the POST stage of Boot-up.

The Old-Tower (running a Chaintech 6BTM Mobo with 350W

PSU)
PrimaryMaster IDE drive will work in the new-tower BIOS.

The new-tower is running an AOpen AX6BC Mobo with 230W

PSU.
The POST screen mentions:-
Award Modular BIOS v4.60 PGMA.
2.36T May.17.1999

Bottom-left of POST screen gives the following info:-
5/17/1999 - i440BX - 00000006C - 00

I hope this message is not overwhelming for those in the
know but I have spent days on this and got nowhere, any
ideas you have would be appreciated.

Thanks
