I did as you suggested and I keep getting invalid
switch: /1 This is when I try to extract the missing
file, comct132.dll. Anything more that you can suggest?

When you use Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition,
you may receive an
error message similar to the following:

Shell32.dll is linked to missing export comctl32.dll:386
CAUSE
This problem can occur if the Comctl32.dll file is the
wrong version, or the
file is missing or damaged.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, extract and replace the
Comctl32.dll file. To do
so, use the appropriate method from this section.
Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition Installed, but
No Startup Disk
You need a startup disk to perform the steps in the
following sections of
this article:
Windows 98 with IDE CD-ROM or DVD-ROM Drive
Windows 98 with SCSI CD-ROM or DVD-ROM Drive
Windows Millennium Edition
If you do not have a Windows startup disk, you can use
any Windows 98-based
computer or Windows Millennium Edition-based computer
to
create one. To
create a Windows startup disk, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel,
and
then double-click
Add/Remove Programs.
Click the Startup Disk tab, click Create Disk, and then
follow the prompts
to create a startup disk.
After you create a startup disk, continue with the
appropriate method from
among the following.
Windows 98 with IDE CD-ROM or DVD-ROM Drive
If your computer has an integrated device electronics
CD-
ROM or DVD-ROM
drive, use the following procedure.

NOTE: To determine what type of CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
that you have, see
the documentation that came with your computer or CD-
ROM
or DVD-ROM drive.

Insert the Windows startup disk in the floppy disk
drive, and then restart
your computer.
On the startup menu that appears, click Load IDE CDROM
Driver, and then

My niece was trying to delete Outlook (she says) and
now
is says windows need to be reinstalled. She is running
WinMe. When we click the ok (in the error message)
another error message pops up and freezes everything.
The next popup says "The shell32.dll file is linked to
missing export CONCTL32.dll:388"
Now what? I went to bootdisk.com and made a bootdisk
and
did a scan disk. that was ok.
Any other suggestions?
