I don't get error message. Boot process just hangs and
then I have to CTL ALT DEL and look at close program
screen and I notice that certain things (such as systray)
are not responding. I end task them and then the boot
continues. I have to do that three or four times to get
through the boot process.

What EXACT error messages do you get on booting?

Starting last night, as I boot up the computer, certain
files that are listed in Msconfig Startup hang and
refuse
to load and I have to CTL ALT DEL and end task to get
the
process to continue. These usually include systray,
statemgr and vsmon. I have scanned the disk, run spybot
and adaware, I have latest mcaffee virus protection and
firewall and I just can't figure out what caused this.
Files (like systray.exe) seem to be there in
Windows/System as they shouldbe. ????????
