Default Only getting 16 colors on the monitor.

I have a Windows 98 system.
Then for some reason, it would only display 16 colors on the monitor!

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

What a moron.

I can't believe that some people are so retarded when it comes to using
windoze.

Look fool.

Right-click somewhere on an empty area of the desktop. A drop-down list
will appear. Select "Properties".

A window will pop up. It will have 5 or 6 tabs across the top. Select
the "Settings" tab.

You will see 2 slider controls. Once for the number of colors/bits,
another for screen resolution.

Set them as appropriate or as desired.

If the only choice for color is 15 or 256 colors, and/or if the choice
for screen resolution is no higher than 640 x 480 or 800 x 600, then
either you have a really crappy/old video card, or the drivers for the
card are not installed, or they're the wrong drivers.

To take this one step further, close that window, then right-click on
the "my computer" icon and select "properties". Click the "device
manager" tab.

There will be an entry for "Display Adapter". Is there a yellow
exclamation mark (!) beside it?

If not, click the [+} beside Display Adapter and report back what is
listed under it.
