Okay, it's working now. Apparently I had some really bad malware
that was causing the problem. I ran Ad-Aware and it found 12
items, 8 of which were ezula related and 2 were ISTBAR (never
heard of that one). I'm not sure where I picked them up, but they
weren't there 2 days ago. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

| It sounds as if the CDROM has failed, and there's really no easy
way to test
| that except by substitution - either by trying the drive in
another computer
| or trying a new or known-good drive in the place of the faulty
one.

| After shutting my computer down for a few hours today and
| rebooting, my cd-rom drive would not work so I looked in My
| Computer and it is not showing up. I tried rebooting several
| times and watching as things loaded and the drive never showed
up.
| As a matter of fact I thought the hard drive wasn't going to
show
| up either since it took so long, but it did and WindowsMe
loaded
| and seems to work just fine, but no cd-rom drive. What should
I do
| first to find out the problem? This happened once before
about a
| week ago, but upon rebooting, there it was and have had no
| problems since then until today even though I have rebooted
| numerous times during the last week. I don't have another
| computer in which to test the drive, so I'm hoping there is a
| simple solution. Thanks for any help.
