Windows doesn't load
OK, it seems to allow me to do this. Today's problem is
it doesn't recognise my Windows 98 SE cd when it prompts
me for it. Any ideas?
Thanks

Ummmmmm, what's the problem ? Seems to me you can just
reformat the
drive, no ?

My computer stopped working probably from something I
dl'd, or I filled it past capacity. I've done this
before. My solution previously has been to buy a new
hard
drive, load windows, retreive the data I wanted off
the
old drive, and toss the old drive or use foe storage.
Anyway, I unsuccessfully loaded windows onto the new
drive
and want to start over. I think because I didn't do
the
standard installation and put all the bells and
whistles
on. So, how do I delete what is on the drive already
so I
can start over with the standard installation this
time?

Well, may as well start from scratch... just reformat
the
drive and
install fresh:
Install OS
Install MB drivers (if your machine requires them)
Install basic Video drivers so you're not stuck at
640x480x16
Install OS patches, upgrades
Install the rest of the drivers
Install your Apps
Tweak your personal settings
Restore your personal data

Well, first step, install OS is the problem. I've done
this before and installing the OS again just installs
another. I have to delete the first one first, and I
don't remember how to do that.....thanks
