Default Networking Card 3Com "3C905B-TX": File "el90xbc5.sys" not fou

Marion,

I could not select the file,

Which is 100% correct, as I said earlier it is the FOLDER containing the
cab files that is required.

I tried what you wrote yesterday with the regedit and at the end
there was the path C:Windows/Options/cab

Which is the correct location when the system is first installed using OEM
media. I can only assume that subsequently either the OEM or yourself
deleted the cab files from that location. :-(

TweakUI
A Microsoft tool used with many Microsoft operating systems to tidy up and
"tweak" various features. The version used with Win Me is v1.33. If you
don't have/use TweakUI don't worry, all it does in this case is provide a
method of doing what you have already done using RegEdit.

I can see no reason why you are seeing the NTKERN error you mentioned if
you have restored the files. My suggestion here would be that now you
have the registry pointing to a location that contains the Win Me cab
files that you try booting to DOS using the floppy you created earlier and
delete the three files Uhcd.sys, Usbhub.sys and Usbd.sys. Next remove the
floppy and reboot and let Win Me extract new copies of the files from the
cab files. You can't delete these three files from Win Me, that is with
Win Me running, as they are "protected" against deletion by Win Me's
"system file protection" mechanism.

Best of luck,

TweakUI, where do I Find it? Sorry, it seems, I'm not really lucky
with that problem, but I'm really bot experienced in these Windows
system problems. I'm really glad that you try to help me.
