Explorer's Folder View:
This particular problem is usually the result of a damaged IE (usually

IE6)
install, often as a result of doing so with Norton or McAfee running at

the
time. Yes I do realise you are talking about Windows Explorer rather than
Internet Explorer but the two are linked. May I suggest that you try
repairing IE. Do this using Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and

highlight
Microsoft Internet Explorer, click Add/Remove and then on the next screen
select "Repair Internet Explorer" and then OK.

If you don't have an entry for Microsoft Internet Explorer but rather it

reads
something like Internet Explorer Q?????? don't worry. This is because you
have installed a cumulative update for Internet Explorer. You will need

to
uninstall the update, then go back into Add/Remove Programs, look again

for
Microsoft Internet Explorer, repair it and then reinstall the latest
cumulative update.

If this doesn't work or you have no entry for Internet Explorer in

Add/Remove
Programs please post back and someone will hopefully post further details

on
how to repair Explorer.

Hi

Does anyone know the correct registry key which causes "All Folders"

pane
missing or Windows Explorer is blank in ME.

I have found this link for Windows 95/98 but Ive looked in the registry
and it does seem to apply to ME.

NB
Some of may remember my thread concerning "New 120 GIG Hard Drive:

Garbled
Folder appeared" started on 22 May 2004 (the thread has disappeared from
my ISP now).
Latest info: I have bought and flashed a new BIOS from esupport but now

I
have problems with my Floppy and Hard Drives using an MS-DOS

compatibility
mode file system. In fact I cannot see my CD ROM or DVD at all. At
present.E-support are trying to resolve the problem. You may be aware

that
once ME goes into this mode for the IDEs it can be difficult to resolve
without a re-install of ME. If anyone has any ideas on this, I would be
pleased to receive them. I have followed all the advice

http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winme

and

Thanks to everyone (especially masterprometheus) that replied to me on
the original strand. Once I sort it all out then I will post the

solution
for others that might have the same problem..
